Beryl made landfall on the Texas coast as a category 1 hurricane, heading northward on a path that could put parts of the TVEC service area into tropical storm conditions later today and into Tuesday morning.

As the storm’s trajectory has changed over the last several days, TVEC employees have begun preparations in case of any damage in our area, as well as to assist other co-ops in the damage path when possible.

Please watch tvec.net and TVEC social media channels for any updates regarding our storm response.

While it looks like most of Beryl’s intensity will be outside of our area, you cannot predict all of the storm’s effects and individual storm elements that may cause problems far from the storm’s path. Find preparedness information here.

Beryl is expected to bring significant rainfall and flooding risk. Along with the potential property damage, flooding can slow response from power restoration crews if outages occur. Please make sure you are prepared with plans for the safety of any individuals who may have health risks during extended power outages.
