As announced in the January Texas Co-op Power magazine, TVEC rates will go up slightly beginning with April bills. That includes usage starting February 21.
Information about the new rates, as well as a calculator tool to see how your bill will be affected, can be found at tvec.net/rates.
TVEC’s last rate adjustment came in 2008. Since that time overall inflation has increased the cost of goods more than 42 percent. For some items used in electric infrastructure, costs have gone up even more.
A member information meeting regarding the new rates will be held at 6 p.m. January 21 at the TVEC Kaufman headquarters.
