Solar and Wind

Please Contact TVEC Prior to Installing Your Solar Project.

It is important to start your project with an understanding of the TVEC interconnection process and requirements before getting your solar project underway.

We can help ensure that your installer and planned equipment layout meets our specifications and you can get connected as soon as possible.

Waiting to contact us after installation can result in delays and additional costs due to failed inspections and equipment changes.

What is Distributed Generation?

With the proliferation of consumer-owned energy generation and storage solutions there is also an abundance of new technology and acronyms to learn about. Here at TVEC, we are working to ensure that our members are able to utilize all of the latest tools and energy solutions while maintaining a safe and reliable power grid.

Distributed Generation (DG) is a term that covers small solar and wind power generation installations  that are located at individual homes and businesses on the electric grid.

Distributed Energy Resources (DER) is a term referring to all individually or company-owned alternative energy sources, including small generators, battery back up power, solar and wind power and microgrid technology solutions.

TVEC uses DG and DER programs to help members make the most of solar, wind or energy storage solutions while making sure that our commitment to safe, reliable and cost-effective energy is available everywhere in our service territory. To submit a DG application or for more information contact TVEC Member Services at 800-766-9576 or email energymanagement@tvec.coop .
